More stats to be added in 2006 for the GKWL

The latest news out of the GKWL is that more stats will be kept during the upcoming season. A few of which include batting average, runs against average and on-base percentage. These are important stats and will contribute to the production of several new awards following the 2006 season. Although the league would like to see these particular stats being kept for each team, it is the responsibility of each franchise to keep batting average and on-base percentage.
In order to keep these stats each team will be given a stat sheet to keep the results of each at-bat on. It is then the responsibility of that team to assign a player to write down the results and keep it organized. Then, following the game, the sheet will be turned over to the league where league officials will decipher and organize the stats accordingly. An experiment was conducted during a Cougars, Fighting Irish preseason match-up on 2/21/06 in which the Cougars kept the aforementioned stats. The experiment went well as Scott Fitzpatrick and Earl Turner led the team with .667 batting averages and Scott took the crown with on-base percentage posting an .818 mark.
Any more news regarding this issue will be posted on the league web site. This is a big step forward in the stat department for the GKWL and the league is keeping its fingers crossed that more stats can be added at the start of the regular season.
